Interface Engineer / Software Developer


Job Duties

The Interface Engineer / Software Developer is primarily responsible for the design and development of interfaces between client systems and the Finpay platform. You will utilize DELL Boomi and other interface engines to perform ETL operations with client data. You will work with product analysts and clients in designing and developing solutions to facilitate batch and real-time data transfers. In addition, you will be involved in core product and API software development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Implementing and maintaining bi-directional interfaces
  • Analyzing interface requirements and writing technical interface specifications and documentation
  • Writing interface data transformations
  • Creating test messages, scripts, and interface testing documentation
  • Managing and configuring our DELL Boomi interface engine
  • Ability to write code utilizing Finpay tech stacks
  • Be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with clients and Finpay functional departments
  • Guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery

  • 3+ years experience as an Interface Engineer or Software Developer
  • Prior experience working with DELL Boomi
  • Knowledge and experience with HL-7 Interfaces especially ADT and SIU transactions
  • Knowledge and experience with X12 healthcare transactions, in particular EDI 835 transactions
  • Knowledge and experience with objects and integrations
  • Experience using interface engines
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience
  • Experience with agile development methodologies including Scrum
  • Understanding of object-oriented and service-oriented application development techniques and theories
  • Internally motivated, able to work proficiently both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong communication skills with both internal team members and company departments
  • Strong initiative to find ways to improve solutions, systems, and processes
  • Ability to communicate and work with clients effectively
  • Ability to write policies and procedures documentation


Location: Remote, Philadelphia area, PA- required
